This is me.

I am a walker. I like to walk. I stroll, hike, climb, even run. I’ll take the same route because I always notice something. I’ll explore a new route especially to make a memory. Before, I walked the path with Bill. Bill and Kath. Bill was my familiar, everyday walk. Here in Northern California we raised two sons together, served God together and did life as side by side as life can be. In a way, he is my biography — met in college, married and became more and more alike. We preferred the same crispy-but-light deep Belgium waffle, the same not-too-hard-not-too-soft mattress, the get-to-the-point preachers, knotty pine trim, and we were, wait… still are, so absolutely crazy about our family.

I am a mom of 2 amazing young men and their wives. Homeschooling kept me happily at home and out and about learning and discovering as we grew up together. Homeschooling was Bill’s idea. He was right. Our family loved it. We studied music which has provided pleasure for both Jordan and Jeffrey and a career for Jeffrey. I joined public education as this stint came to an end and just recently retired from my school director position and school family.

I moved close to Jordan and his family so that I could lean into their buoyant arms. They have been the stable beneath my stumble and oh so gracious. Among all the gifts Bill gave me, this family is his special gift to me for such a time as this.
